THIS COMING WEEK

The Day of Pentecost, Whitsunday  May 24, 2015

  • SUNDAY'S APPOINTED MASS READINGS: Ezekiel 37:1-14; Psalm 104:25-30; Acts 2:1-21; John 15:26-27; 16:4b-15; Preaching: Mother Archer
  • LOW MASS with HYMNS:  Please note that due to the Memorial Day weekend when a great many of our parishioners will be out of town, the Mass of Pentecost will be said, not sung.  All who will be away are strongly encouraged to attend mass at their destination.  And on this national holiday weekend all are encouraged to pause in thanksgiving for those who died in the service of their country.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Looking ahead to Trinity Sunday & Summertime

  • ST. PAUL’S IN PUBLIC!  On Saturday, May 30, St. Paul’s has rented a table at the annual Carroll Park Fair—our neighborhood’s big outdoor market for local crafts/art/business/and junk sales.  St. Paul’s rented its table as a witness to our part in the life of the neighborhood.  Besides providing brochures and warm welcomes to visitors, we will let people know that our church is open for tours and light refreshments between 11:00 and 4:00.  Nick Mancino is in charge of this.  If you would like to help, please speak with him after mass on Sunday, or contact the parish office.
  • TRINITY SUNDAY:  May 31.  The final Sunday of our regular schedule of 11:00 a.m. Solemn masses will observe the Feast of the Holy Trinity with the choir’s last service of the season.  They will sing the appropriate canticle of the day: Te Deum, to a setting by T. L. de Victoria.
  • SPRING RUMMAGE SALE:  Saturday, June 6, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the Parish Hall.  Beginning this Sunday may begin to bring your excellent rummage to the church where it will be sorted and assembled for sale.  Due to new recycling laws we must request that NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES be donated.
  • SUMMER SCHEDULE BEGINS:  Sunday masses move to 10:00 o’clock during the months of June through September.  Mass is simplified to accommodate for the heat.
