- Mother's Day It is the May-time tradition of the Church to remember with particular honor and fondness the Mother of our Lord; and it is a wonderful circumstance that the secular celebration of Mothers’ Day also falls in May. Ave! Alleluia!
PARISH AND COMMUNITY EVENTS AT ST. PAUL'S
- May 20/21: TWO DAY ST. PAUL’S FLEA MARKET—this Saturday between 9:00 and 3:00, and Sunday between 1:00 and 4:00, in the Parish Hall. Donations of your fabulous, clean, unbroken, non-electronic stuff are being accepted through this Thursday evening. Can you help bake or sell for our bake sale? We need volunteers to help set-up on Thursday the 18th between 4:00 and 7:00, and on Friday any time between 10:00 and 7:00; or to help staff during sales hours on Saturday between 8:30 and 4:00, and on Sunday between 1:00 and 4:00, then to help clean up on Sunday afternoon between 4:00 and 5:00!
- Changing gears for the season: The final Sunday of our Sunday School’s spring semester is next Sunday, May 21. Also, the final Sunday of our parish choir’s service is next Sunday, May 21. On the first Sunday of June our Sunday mass start-time shifts back an hour to a cooler 10:00. During the summer, mass is celebrated with simple ceremonial, and lemonade and iced tea replace coffee after mass. On October 1st, we will shift back into high gear!
- Prayer Vigil for Pentecost: In anticipation of the Feast of Pentecost, all are invited to attend the ecumenical prayer to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, at Sacred Hearts and St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church at the corner of Summit and Hicks Streets.
- On Sunday, June 11, at 3:00 p.m., St. Paul’s sponsors for our wider community a PANEL DISCUSSION ON RACIAL JUSTICE & RECONCILIATION! Guest panelists include: The Rev. Flora Wilson Bridges, of Rendell Memorial Presbyterian Church, Harlem; The Rev. Marie Tatro, Vicar for Community Justice, Episcopal Diocese of Long Island; and Rabbi Hara Person of the Central Conference of American Rabbis.
