UPDATE ON 1ST FLOOR RENOVATION!

  • What’s up?  To meet our neighborhood’s growing need for public meeting space, and our own parish’s increasing activity, we have undertaken a project to renovate the first floor of St. Andrew’s House.  This revitalization is in accord with ideas put forward by parishioners during our Imagine St. Paul’s study, and includes a new ADA accessible entrance and restroom, more stowage space, and multipurpose, mutigenerational safe-space public meeting rooms that can be maintained securely and easily.  The projected cost is $50,000.
  • Grant received from the Trustees of the Diocese of Long Island!  At their June meeting, the Trustees of the Diocese of Long Island granted St. Paul’s $15,000 towards our fundraising goal!
  • Contributions from parishioners!  After less than a month of asking, parishioner donations have already been received in the amount of gifts: $19,000, plus $1,000 pledged, leaving a balance of $15,000 to raise.  Between the Diocesan grant and parishioner contributions received we are already at 70% of our goal!
  • A volunteer crew of parishioners has taken the first step.  Preparing the space for refitting involved removal of unneeded stuff, and stowage of valuable items.  After mass on Sunday, June 11, our crew accomplished the first step!
  • Want to learn more?  During any Coffee Hour ask a member of the Vestry to walk you through the project area.

SUMMER EVENTS

July 4, Annual Mass and BBQ at Christ Church, Clinton and Kane

  • Our neighbors at Christ Church invite us, and all our neighbors, to join them at their traditional July 4th celebrations.  Mass will be said at 4:00, and a BBQ in their garden begins at 5:00.  All are invited to either or both.  Bring your own fixings and use the grills, or for a donation you may partake of their supply of sausages, meats, and drinks.

Gladys Day at St. Paul’s—July 30

  • Gladys Cudjoe celebrates her ‘um-tee-umth’ birthday!  After Sunday mass on July 30, our summertime-streamlined coffee hour takes a festive turn as together we acknowledge the presence of our venerable sister-in-Christ whose joy always brings renewed energy and wisdom to each of us.

Summertime Jazz@Mass@St. Paul’s—July 13, and September 24

  • This summer sees two Sundays of Jazz offered to the Glory of God.  Some of our most eagerly anticipated summertime events are the Sunday morning masses when our jazz-musician parishioners and their friends offer their gifts in the worship of God.  This year’s Jazz@Mass Sundays are scheduled for mid-season, on July 13, and then our season’s end celebration on September 24.
