SUMMERTIME OUTREACH

  • FOOD DRIVE:  Throughout the summer months, bins to receive non-perishable food items are placed in the rear of the church.  Items collected will help restock the pantry shelves of First Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn Heights.
  • MUSIC FOR SENIORS report:  Vince Peterson, our parish musician, provided the first of two summertime afternoon entertainments to the clients of our local Eileen Dugan Senior Citizen Center on Court Street.  Reports tell of a smashing success.
  • PARISH HALL USE BY-AND-FOR OUR WIDER COMMUNITY:  Even while Team Kitchen is knee-deep in the repair of our kitchen facilities, the Parish Hall continues to provide space to our whole community.  In addition to 10 regularly scheduled meetings per week, our space is also used on 2nd Sunday afternoons for a Sacred Harp Sing, and for occasional one-time community events such as Community Board 6’s widely advertised forum to discuss solar energy options for local residences.  For more information, check their website at www.solarizebrooklyncb6.com.  And on Thursday evening, August 6, the Parish Hall will be the “hot spot” for Choral Chameleon’s community-wide invitation sing.  This summer’s featured sing-a-long work will be Ramirez’s fabulous Missa Criolla.  For more information check out their website at www.choralchameleon.com

SUMMERTIME TEAM and FUNDRAISING UPDATES

  • TEAM KITCHEN:  As our fellow parishioners continued to work on flooring and subflooring, the old hot water heater sprung a leak, adding yet another item onto Team Kitchen’s already stressed budget!  If you’ve not yet visited their site to make a contribution at www.gofundme.com/stpauls, please consider doing so!
  • POP-UP AUCTION  Live” now!—SUMMER 2015’s POP UP Auction has raised $735 to date!  The online bidding closes on July 18, 2:00 p.m.  The Annual Auction will be held as always; this year on November 7, 2015. In the meantime, please help us try out this new way to fundraise!  Use your computer or smartphone to go to http:www.biddingowl.com/StPaulsEpiscopal where you will be able to view our catalog of items & services up for bid.  Check in often to see any newly added items and to raise your bids, if necessary! All proceeds from our POP-UP Auction will go to St. Paul’s Summer Projects.
  • CHOOSE A TEAM: GET INSPIRED.  Did you choose a team yet?  We are hoping everyone will participate in some way.  There are 4 Teams:  Basement, Kitchen, Rectory, and Exterior.  For more information about each team's project and the many ways you can help, check out www.gofundme.com/stpauls .
