UPCOMING LENTEN OPPORTUNITIES

  • Non-perishable Food Drive:  Our Sunday School students once again sponsor our parish-wide effort to collect non-perishable food items to help restock the much used shelves of the Food Pantry of First Presbyterian, Brooklyn Heights.  The students have prepared bins to receive donations; they are located in the rear of the nave.
  • Racial Justice & Reconciliation:  At the Bishop’s behest, Adult Christian Education (ACE) has planned a wide choice of small, home group discussions, to be offered after Mass and Coffee Hours on five Sundays during Lent—March 5, 12, 19, 26, and April 2.  Some members of the parish have opened their homes for these meetings, and all parishioners are invited to attend ONE of them at a place and date most convenient.  Information about the locations of these home meetings, and a signup sheet to reserve your attendance at your preferred location and date will be available during Sunday morning Coffee Hours.  For your further preparation, please visit our parish website at www.stpaulscarrollst.org to find a full outline of available online materials and videos.  Hardcopies of this same information will be available at Coffee Hour.
  • Third Friday Dinner for Charity:  Help support outreach to Episcopal Ministries, Long Island, by attending the Supper for Charity on March 17.  Yes, it will be a Lenten Friday; and yes, it falls on St. Patrick’s Day.  The food will be Irish—plenty penitential enough.  The conviviality might be too Irish and not Lenten enough, but proceeds will help others, and you won’t have to wash dishes.  Bring friends!  $5 child, $15 adult, $30 family max.
