THIS COMING WEEK

The Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost, August 16, 2015

  • SUNDAY'S APPOINTED MASS READINGS: Proverbs 9:1-6; John 6: 51-58; Preaching: Fr. IMPORTANT NEWS FROM THE TREASURER

  • MID-YEAR GIVING STATEMENTS have been generated via Realm and were emailed out this past Tuesday. In that email, there is also a link to initiate an individual profile in our St. Paul's account. This will enable you to track your giving in between quarterly statements. If you did not receive your statement via email, and would like to join the party, please send your email address to Lori at lori.r.sims@gmail.com. If you did receive the email but would prefer paper statements, you can send an email to Lori and she will change your preferences. Just a reminder, St. Paul's will never ask you to email sensitive information, including any login or password information. Paper statements will be available after mass this Sunday, the 16th.

SUMMERTIME OUTREACH

  • FOOD DRIVE:  Throughout the summer months, bins to receive non-perishable food items are placed in the rear of the church.  Items collected will help restock the pantry shelves of First Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn Heights.

SUMMERTIME TEAM UPDATES

  • TEAM KITCHEN:  Team Kitchen is closing in on the finish line!  New counter tops are being installed.  The restroom floor work is nearing completion.  Nice work!
  • TEAM EXTERIOR:  Exterior work on our fence and doors began last Saturday, and now the wooden doors have received proper care and a new protective finish.  Some iron work, scraping, and painting has begun on the fencing.  If you’d like to help, please contact Doug Munson at 917-513-8112.
  • TEAM BASEMENT:  This past week Team Basement removed more non-usable items, and re-ordered the shelving so as to make stowage space more convenient to the various parish guilds that make use of the space.
  • WHILE WORK IS IN PROGRESS the Hall and Church continue to be used daily for parish and community-service meetings.  The only thing “lagging behind” is donations!  Please encourage your family and friends to help this team meet its goal in order that St. Paul’s may better serve.
  • CHOOSE A TEAM: GET INSPIRED.  Did you choose a team yet?  We are hoping everyone will participate in some way.  There are 4 Teams:  Basement, Kitchen, Rectory, and Exterior.  For more information about each team's project and the many ways you can help, check out www.gofundme.com/stpauls
