The date for the Red Hook Thanksgiving dinner has been changed to Friday, November 21st. Mark your calendars today and look for further details in next week’s announcements. This is a great opportunity for our families to share with the families in the Red Hook community.
Photo Snapshot Board Revived
As our numbers grow and new people join the church, it becomes a challenge to get to know each other’s names. On Sunday, November 16th we will again begin taking pictures of parishioners for the Photo Board in the Parish Hall. Photographers will take snaps of families and individuals this Sunday and again on another Sunday in the future. We will announce the second date on the week before the next round with the photographers. Thanks to our friends and parishioners who will be behind the cameras, and to Willie Martinez for arranging this.
November Food Drive Continues
During the month, we will continue to collect food for the Food Pantry at First Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn Heights. Gifts of non-perishable food and toiletries can be placed in the baskets that our Sunday School children decorated for us. The baskets are located at the back of the church.
Looking Ahead to December Activities
There will be a Holiday Sale at Coffee Hour on Sunday, December 14th and 21st. You’ll find some holiday-themed items and homemade crafts as well. If you have any craft items you would like to include in the sale, please speak to John Lord.
Holiday Cookie Workshop. Save the date: Saturday, December 20th, at 9:00 a.m. Come to the parish kitchen and bake holiday cookies and treats that will be used at the reception following the Messiah Sing on the following day. Talk to John Lord, if you are interested in helping at this tasty event.
Our last fund-raiser and fun-raiser of the year is the second annual Sing-it-Yourself Messiah. This joyous evening was such a hit last year, that we’re repeating it again this year on Sunday December 21st at 4 pm. It’s also a chance for you to bring your friends who love to sing to join in the chorus.
